Northern Vietnam's industrial belt welcomes carbon management platform: an ASEAN model for green supply chain transformation
Korean carbon management company Glassdome has partnered with Vietnam's KBC and HOUSELINK to provide a carbon management platform for industrial parks in northern Vietnam, helping companies address global carbon regulations such as CBAM. This collaboration highlights the critical role of ASEAN manufacturing in the green transformation of supply chains, as well as the trend toward standardization of regional carbon management.
Supply Chain Greening from a Regional Perspective
On June 9, 2026, South Korean carbon management solution provider Glassdome announced the signing of a tripartite memorandum of understanding with Vietnam's leading industrial park developer KinhBac City Development Holding Corporation (KBC) and foreign-invested sustainability consulting firm HOUSELINK to jointly create a comprehensive "green transition" service package for the northern Vietnam industrial belt. This collaboration not only involves compliance tools for individual enterprises but also reflects the systemic transformation needs of ASEAN manufacturing in response to trade barriers such as the global Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
KBC operates several key industrial complexes in northern Vietnam and serves as a crucial conduit for foreign direct investment (FDI) flowing into electronics, textiles, automotive components, and other industries. Against the backdrop of global supply chain restructuring, Vietnam is accelerating the absorption of manufacturing capacity shifted from China. However, this comes with stricter environmental regulations from overseas markets. In particular, the EU CBAM will be fully implemented in 2026, imposing carbon costs on exports of steel, aluminum, cement, fertilizers, electricity, and hydrogen to the EU, with potential expansion to more categories in the future. For many foreign manufacturers in Vietnam's industrial parks, having real-time, precise Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculation capabilities has shifted from a "bonus" to a "threshold requirement."
Triple Coupling: South Korean Technology, Vietnamese Infrastructure, and Cross-border Compliance
At the core of this collaboration is Glassdome's carbon management platform, which features direct collection of real-time raw data from production equipment and IT/OT systems, rather than relying on industry averages or estimates. This "data-driven" model is a first for ASEAN industrial parks. HOUSELINK provides ESG consulting and localized investment and financing services, while KBC contributes park infrastructure and investment attraction networks. The three parties jointly develop a "green transition" package, starting with a PCF pilot project based on ISO 14067 standards within KBC's parks, and plan to jointly host seminars and global marketing activities.
Notably, Glassdome's platform will integrate multiple compliance functions—PCF, Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF), CBAM reporting, Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), etc.—covering the entire process of data collection, calculation, reporting, verification, and exchange. This "one-stop carbon data management" capability is crucial for multinational manufacturers spread across multiple industrial parks.
Glassdome has explicitly stated its plan to establish a local subsidiary in Vietnam and expand business through large-scale demonstration projects, with a long-term goal of "regional standardization" of South Korean manufacturers' carbon management practices across the entire ASEAN market. This ambition aligns closely with the "green economy" path promoted by the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC): although ASEAN countries have differences in carbon pricing and emission reduction targets, the cross-border supply chain demands unified data reporting and compliance language.

Traditionally, the competitive focus of Vietnam’s industrial parks has been on land costs, labor supply, and tax incentives. As global buyers—especially EU and Japanese companies—incorporate ESG performance into procurement criteria, the “green infrastructure” of industrial parks is becoming a new locational advantage. KBC has taken the lead in introducing third-party carbon management platforms, effectively adding “carbon compliance assets” alongside fixed assets, thereby enhancing the park's appeal to high-value-added foreign investment.
From the perspective of regional industrial division of labor, Vietnam is upgrading from a mere assembly base to a “manufacturing + compliance” node. This trend is also emerging in other ASEAN countries: Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) promotes localized carbon footprint certification for the electric vehicle industry, and Indonesia’s nickel smelting parks require carbon accounting reports to accompany export products. The Glassdome case shows that private enterprises are spontaneously building a carbon management ecosystem that connects industrial parks, consulting service institutions, and multinational corporations, while the unified carbon market mechanism at the ASEAN government level is still in its early stages.
Significance of Cross-Border Green Infrastructure
Another insight from the Glassdome cooperation case is that it demonstrates the prototype of “cross-border green infrastructure.” ASEAN lacks a unified carbon accounting standard, but through platforms like this, Korean technology can be embedded into Vietnam’s production side, directly providing compliance certificates for goods exported to the EU, Japan, and other markets. This “technology-infrastructure-service” packaging model may become a typical path for the low-carbon transformation of regional supply chains.
Of course, challenges remain: are small and medium-sized enterprises willing to bear the additional cost of carbon data collection? How can data mutual recognition be achieved among different countries? But at least this pilot in northern Vietnam’s industrial belt provides a replicable scenario for other ASEAN countries. For policymakers, supporting the construction of carbon management platforms at the industrial park level may be a pragmatic entry point to accelerate regional green transformation.
